The Artist
biography
Born in Barcelona (1964), I decided to break my urban routine and explore other experiences. This led me to live in Tenerife for a period of seven years, and between Malaga and Cadiz for almost twenty years, finally it is Malaga, no doubt brings me very good energy, so I find in the Axarquia of Malaga the perfect place to settle down.

Know how
- handmade knotting technique
- raffia canvas
- patience as a virtue
As I had mentioned in my presentation, this discipline is referenced by Dominican carpets, where they are made on a raffia canvas, crossing the canvas with the strip of fabric helped by a kind of wooden needle. I choose to do it with a rug hook. As a technique it has no complications in itself, although it is very laborious. Over time and following the whims of my imagination I proceed to play with the volumes, which leads me to different ways to achieve it, using fillings, additions, overlapping pieces and everything that allows me to make the piece as it is designed in my mind. The material I use is very varied, I have worked with polyester lining, acetate, satin, lame, organza, mesh and tulle. There are many meters of fabric used, and countless hours invested for the sheer pleasure of materializing what was once a project idea.
Each piece is made up of thousands of knots, the size and complexity of the piece will determine the time used, I like to work in large format, so to get an idea, the average is approximately one month to three months.
